Suvin: the cotton most people will never touch.
Most t-shirts begin with a question of cost. Ours began with a question of feeling, and the answer, every time, was Suvin.
What Suvin is
Suvin is an extra-long staple cotton grown in southern India, the result of crossing India's Sujata cotton with St. Vincent Sea Island varieties. The name carries both parents: Su-vin. Its fibres are exceptionally long and fine, which means they spin into a smoother, stronger yarn with far fewer exposed ends.
That single fact explains almost everything about how it feels: less friction against the skin, a naturally soft hand, and a quiet sheen that needs no chemical finishing.
Why it's rare
Suvin is demanding to grow and yields little. It accounts for a vanishingly small share of the world's cotton, harvested by hand in limited quantities each season. Most of it never leaves a small circle of fine shirting and luxury mills.
We chose it anyway, not as a talking point, but because the everyday essential deserves the best version of its own material.
How it feels in our two fits
The same cotton, expressed two ways. In The Standard Fit, a mid-weight knit gives Suvin structure, a clean line that holds through the day. In The Comfort Fit, a heavier knit lets it drape: relaxed, substantial, unhurried.
Caring for it
Suvin asks little. Wash cold, with similar colours. Hang to dry, away from direct sun. Iron low, if at all. Treated gently, it doesn't just last. It softens, season after season, into something that feels entirely yours.
